Norman has lectured at the NEC, Olympia, Wembley Conference Centre, Pride Park, the Doncaster Dome, the Barbican, Arundel Castle, Gleneagles, the Belfry, Newbury Race Course and the QE2 Conference Centre.

Abroad, Norman has spoken in Lille, Dubai, Oslo, Brussels, Corfu, Majorca, Evian, Nice and Monte Carlo, to name but a few of his venues.

He has recently begun a series of lectures on cruise ships, beginning on the QE2 and joining Page and Moy in 2005.

The best compliment I have ever been paid at a conference was in Corfu. The speaker the year before was the athletics coach Frank Dick, who is regarded as one of the best motivational speakers. After my presentation the Austrian woman who organised the event quoted her assistant as follows:

"You had been speaking for only three minutes when Heidi whispered to me 'This man is a Dick'." At least, I am assuming she meant I was as good as (Frank) Dick, not dick.

…you had your audience spellbound... We were absolutely enthralled... Our best ever! Your talk was voted quite the finest and most popular... yours was only the second standing ovation in the history of the society... You were superb!... Excellent, we were all delighted... a world class speaker... without exception the best and most amusing presentation they had ever attended... You got the highest score of the day!... an absolutely splendid talk, quite the best we have had... wonderful.

"Despite having two below the knee artificial legs, Norman Croucher set out to climb just one of the world's 14 mountains which exceed 8,000 metres, or as he put it "join the 5-mile high club"...
